Job Summary:
Develops and conducts programs to train customers of industrial and commercial establishments in installation, maintenance and repair of products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates technical liaison services to inform customers of new types, specifications, and end uses of products.
  • Reports to management on new product or process technology of competitors, and to discuss new specifications required by customers.
  • Investigates customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered conditions of products.
  • Confers with management and staff to determine training objectives.
  • Sets up and demonstrates installation procedures for inside and outside seminars.
  • Lectures class on installation, maintenance, and repair of products.
  • Answers class trainees technical questions of products.
  • Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain useful training information and integrates information into training programs.
  • Works directly with contractors to educate and answer questions concerning products.
  • Constructs mock-up displays for show room.
  • Provides field assistance for installations and technical advice on installation guides.
  • Works with contractors on project estimating, management and submittals.
  • Reviews shop drawings, and issues warranties.
  • Works with project inspectors.
  • Provides technical support to inside/outside sales departments.
  • Calculates materials and coil poundage of projects prior to manufacturing.
  • Makes management aware of upcoming large projects.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree (A. A.) from two-year College or technical school; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills:

  • Individual must possess a working knowledge of blueprints, AutoCAD, metric conversion and architectural ruler.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to interpret an expensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
